The parish, through the leadership of the parish priest, Msgr. Gene Reyes, will be spending PhP 500,000.00 for the the repair and restoration of the church’s five retablos. This will entail some time, since much care will have to be taken in cleaning the antique woodwork by several teams of artisans.

We have one of the best-preserved church convents in the archdiocese, even with the ravages of time and the threat of lahar two-decades ago. But we are building a new one!
In January 2011, the parishioners of Santa Rita de Cascia, led by the Parish Finance Council (PFC), witnessed an old building within the church grounds demolished. On the morning of 1 July 2011, Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and First Friday, new members of the Apostleship of Prayer (AP, Apostolado ning Panalangin in Capampangan) were inducted by the parish priest, Msgr. Gene Reyes at the Santa Rita de Cascia Parish Church during the 5:30 a.m. Mass.
The new members are active church-goers, many are members of church ministries. This year’s batch of inductees included several students, who are known to regularly hear First Friday Masses and join the Holy Hour.

Due to the rising floodwaters inside the parish church and around its vicinity, all Sunday Masses on 26 June 2011 were moved to nearby chapels. The 5:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Masses were held at the San Jose Chapel, the 8:30 a.m. Mass was at the San Vicente Chapel and the 5:30 p.m. Mass was at the San Matias Chapel.
The flooding was caused by the heavy rains brought on by the tropical storm Falcon. Groundwater also seeped through the flooring of the church, thereby worsening the situation.
