The septinarium (seven days of prayer) for the Mater Dolorosa was held at the Santa Rita de Cascia Parish from 8-14 September 2011, every 5:30 p.m. on weekdays. In a way, each day represented one of the seven sorrows of the Blessed Virgin, with a different meditation after the general prayers. Each day was capped with a Holy Mass and was well-attended by parishioners.

Parishioners and visitors alike filled the parish church as early as 3:30 a.m. to hear Mass on the day of St. Rita’s feast day, 22 May 2011. More visitors were expected this year since the fiesta fell on a weekend but the actual numbers were much more than those anticipated, with Mass-goers spilling out of the doors of the church for most of the Masses, even into the evening.

At exactly 5:00 a.m., on Good Friday, 22 April 2011, the Santa Rita de Cascia Parish Church was close to being full. The community was prepared to go on the Grand Stations of the Cross, which is a traditional Good Friday activity.

Little voices and happy grooves made the liturgy livelier as young Riteñans celebrated the Feast of Sto. Niño last Jan 13, 2011, when a Children’s Mass was also held at 8:30 in the morning, since it was the 3rd Sunday of the month.
Pupils of the Santa Rita Catholic School (SRCS) were the animators who led the singing and dancing during the said Mass. Children and the children-at-heart sang joyfully the cheerful hymns throughout the celebration, making it an unusual Eucharist, especially that it was the Feast of the Child Jesus.

“Tickle, tickle, tickle, coochy coochy coo…”
Sweet angelic voices serenaded the first children’s mass happened last January 17, 2010, 8:30 am in the Parish of Sta. Rita de Cascia, which was also the celebration of the Feast of Sto. Niño.
It was participated by the grade school students of Santa Rita Catholic School (SRCS), who jovially sung and danced with the Ritenians.
